Love love love this podcast!

As a home gym lifter I don’t get the benefit of having other powerlifters around for advice, commiseration, or inspiration. This podcast gives me lots of that with strong women lifters talking about issues, especially those that affect women specifically (find a male podcast talk about pelvic floor therapy!) I really appreciate the “what was I thinking” segment to makes me feel not as terrible about my own “what was I thinking” moments. Heidi does a great job of balancing offering her own contributions with allowing her guests to do the same and I love the variety of guests as well. Thank you Heidi!

Heidi provides information, entertainment & inspiration

I have had an interest in strength training since college, 25 years ago. I also have diplegic spastic cerebral palsy. Periodically throughout my life I have joined gyms and taken classes, and purchased my own dumbbells and with the help of apps developed quite the physique at 40+.

I had a relationship with an amateur bodybuilder and he motivated me. But that didn’t last and with the pandemic and the stresses of single mom of a teen, I gained 25 pounds and started a new job in a warehouse.

Anyway, that led to some hip issues and falls and a “mallet finger” from taking off my socks wrong, so I hired a personal trainer. I’ve been at the same gym for 130 sessions now, and my current trainer is a former powerlifter.

I love strength sports, and my trainer’s modifications (based on my medical team’s advice) increase not only my strength, but improve my balance, stability and endurance.

Your podcast gives me topics to discuss with my trainer and keeps me motivated that someday I might achieve my dream and pursue competitive strength sports.

Be prepared to binge listen

I’m so happy I stumbled upon this podcast. Heidi is so filled with knowledge and entertaining. And sometimes I think that we share the same brain because she asks her guests the questions that I’m like “oh I hope she ask this” then she does!

The solo episodes are so informative (who would have guessed hanging was a thing?) especially the first meet day ones. I feel so much more prepared!
