Joanne Zuger - Rising Swiss Tennis Player [Ep. 164]
Today I chat with Joanne Zugger, a young Swiss tennis player that is making very good progress on the tour. Being coached mainly by her parents, who have their own academy, Joanne’s explains to us how she manages her relationship and time with them. She also walked us through her progress and how she is a bit in advance on what they had initially planned. Joanne played for the first time the qualifications of Grand Slams this year and had a very good run at the French Open where she considers it being the best week of her young career. As she just came back from the US Open she gave us a little insight on what happen and how the tennis balls used for the women’s are special and difficult to play with. Joanne then reminded us she was training in the same club as Roger Federer and explained to us who were her inspirations in tennis. In the coming weeks she hopes she will have the chance to participate and represent her country at the Fed Cup. Being Swiss, Joanne had to the conscription as it is mandatory out there. But she explained to us that it was a great experience and big financial asset for the rest of her career. Finally she gives us her experience on the Functional Tennis Wooden Spoon. I hope you like all the stories we had with Kenneth. —————————————————————————————— 00:00 Intro 01:49 Having parents as coach & owning an academy (Her team) 04:11 Her first year playing Grand Slams 06:35 Feeling comfortable on grass 08:25 Her US Open 2022 journey 09:11 Women tennis balls at the US Open (lighter & faster) 11:57 Making 1/4 finals at 60k tournament in Switzerland 12:35 Joanne’s schedule for the coming weeks 13:04 Switzerland’s Fed Cup Team 13:59 Training in the same club as Roger Federer 15:00 Joanne’s inspirations in tennis 16:11 Her relationship with her sister 17:14 The Swiss Tennis Federation 17:58 How Joanne manages her time with her parents/coachs 19:41 Conscription being mandatory in Switzerland / Financial help 22:09 Joanne’s best experience on court 22:45 Differences between Junior and Senior Grand Slams 24:17 Testing the Functional Tennis Wooden Spoon —————————————————————————————— Find us on Social Media: ➡️ Instagram:   / functionaltennispodcast   ➡️ Website: https://FunctionalTennis.com ➡️ Facebook:   / functionaltennisofficial   ➡️ YouTube: https://youtube.come/FunctionalTennis...
