The Climate Conversations: Where Do We Go From Here?

Episode Summary

In our post-pandemic world, there is no more pressing issue than climate change. This fall, Disruptors, an RBC podcast, launches a multi-part series exploring some of the potential solutions to a warming planet—as well as some of the challenges in implementing them. Co-hosts John Stackhouse and Trinh Theresa Do speak with a variety of innovators and market disruptors who are working to get Canada on a path to net-zero emissions. In this first installment of The Climate Conversations, we hear from two leading voices for climate action. Dr. Katharine Hayhoe is the Toronto-born chief scientist for the Nature Conservancy and a distinguished professor at Texas Tech University, who is often called “the most influential climate scientist on the planet.” We also hear from Mark Carney, the former Bank of Canada Governor, who is now the UN Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance and chairs the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net-Zero. Hayhoe and Carney come at the question of climate action from different angles, but each share optimism about how we can meet the moment. And each are using their globally respected voices to win over skeptics in this existential battle for our planet.
