The Accidental Homeschool Mama

Kate Crocco

This is a podcast to encourage mamas who feel they can’t dream in the midst of the chaos. Maybe you don’t have a sitter or ever have alone time (like many of us!). Personally I walked through a season of quitting my business, book writing, and podcasting after we began homeschooling because it looked different than before. I didn't see it possible to do BOTH. It took me almost two years to stop making excuses and find ways to make dreaming work again. I know YOU are incredibly busy and juggling so many hats, but I hope see how possible doing BOTH can actually be.

Dream Again with Cheryl of The Homeschool How to Podcast

This week on the @theaccidentalhomeschoolmama podcast 🎧 I had the pleasure of sitting down with Cheryl of @thehomeschoolhowtopodcast!   🌼 As a new homeschooling family three years ago, I read a few books and chatted with a mom at dance while I second guessed everything through trial and error that first year. Why didn’t I think to find a podcast to listen to? INSERT CHERYL. Cheryl didn’t just read a few books, she decided to start a podcast to interview other homeschooling mamas and glean wisdom from each. BRILLIANT. 🌼 We begin this episode pretty raw. Discussing why we connected—our former lives being pro vax mamas, until tragedy.  🌼 We realize while recording that we live in the same state and just 90 minutes from one another 😂 Upstate NY meetup anyone?   This episode is packed with goodness, Cheryl will give you a great kick and boost your confidence in the homeschool department. You’re not going to want to miss it, especially if you want to hear from a mama who is dreaming again. Tune in where all podcasts are played!   Meet Cheryl: Hi, I’m Cheryl—your fellow conspiracy-loving mama who firmly believes the government has no place in raising my kids. Here’s the kicker: I had zero experience with homeschooling when I realized I wanted to keep my kids out of the school system. I thought homeschoolers were weird and spent their days sewing and whittling. Could I blend our world with homeschooling? Would my kids resent me for missing out on traditional experiences like the prom and football games? I didn’t know, so I set out on a mission to learn from the experts. I began my podcast interviewing homeschooling families so I could explore all the ways people are homeschooling, breaking free from the confines of cubicles and classrooms to embrace a life of freedom and curiosity. This journey has been life changing and led me to leave my 16-year government career to fully embrace the homeschooling lifestyle.. and I want to help you do the same! I Am A Homeschool Mom

This week on the @theaccidentalhomeschoolmama podcast we continue our eight-part series diving into my book, THINKING LIKE A BOSS discussing the eight top lies us mamas tell ourselves and how they relate to HOMESCHOOL📚This series was inspired by a conversation with the amazing Ginny Yurich on episode 282 of @1000hoursoutside podcast. Make sure you don’t miss this series and share with a friend! 🌻 Lie #8 “I am a Homeschool Mom”. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️Listen mamas, this week we are talking all things IDENTITY! 🌻This is our LAST episode of the series where we will be discussing the importance of knowing your identity in Christ rather than equating it to WHAT you accomplish❤️ 🌻In this episode we talk about how many can relate to this at some point in life, whether it be in career, relationships, or now even in your child’s success. We discuss the importance of creating a personal vision (vision board planning!) and using this to find fulfillment. Have you ever struggled with this lie before !? If so, what was something that you did that helped?⬇️   RESOURCES: You can take the quiz here https://www.katecrocco.com/quiz Hi friends!!
