Our Editor's Take

Go Birds is a podcast that celebrates being a Philadelphia Eagles fan. It also allows fans to stay current with what is happening on the team. Few NFL teams have fans who are as fervent as the Eagles. The team's fan base is well known for being loud and proud, especially when they are on the road. Eagles fans even booed Santa Claus back in the day. (Longtime Eagles fans still insist that particular Santa deserved the catcalls.)

James Seltzer and Eliot Shorr-Parks cohost the Go Birds podcast. James is a host and producer for WIP-FM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He cohosts several other podcasts as well, including a fantasy football one. He also contributes to PhiladelphiaEagles.com. Elliot, who is called ESP on the show, has been writing about Philadelphia sports for over a decade. He was an Eagles beat reporter for the Daily Local News and SB Nation. In his early 20s, he wrote the book More Than a Game: Life Lessons from Philadelphia's Sports Communities. As of 2018, he is the Eagles beat reporter for WIP-FM. The radio station produces this podcast.

The environment of professional football becomes more fast-paced with each passing year. For fans to stay informed about their teams, they need a reliable news source they can rely on. This is especially true if one is in a fantasy sports league. Go Birds sets out to be this source of information for Eagles fans. They even talk about what's going on with the Philadelphia Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers. But the hosts also have fun, too. They discuss everything from throwback jerseys to the finale of HBO's Succession.

The hosts debate a variety of Eagles-related topics. Is Jalen Hurts now Philadelphia's best athlete? Who belongs on the Eagles' Mount Rushmore for all-time players? Will the Eagles make it back to the postseason? Are there issues with Jalen Carter's weight? Eagles fans know that the Go Birds hosts have opinions worth listening to on all of these issues.

New episodes of Go Birds premiere daily from Monday to Friday of each week.
