During the blackout dates employees cannot take those days as the companies need all employees working during this time. Maaannnn we got to do something different than seniority get to take days off first!! Jenna and Natasha cover the Employment Law from Texas made significant changes effective September 2021 around sexual harassment. Under the new law, the statute of limitations for filing a charge of sexual harassment is increased from 180 days to 300 days from the date of alleged harassment. The expanded limitations period only applies to sexual harassment claims based on conduct that takes place after September 1, 2021. Under the new Section 21.141 of the Texas Labor Code, the sexual harassment protections apply to employers that have one or more employees. With the expanded definition of “employer,” virtually all Texas workplaces are covered by the sexual harassment laws. Employers may ask applicants about their pay expectations. Allow usage of Nevada also passed a law, that allows employees to use a portion of their accrued sick leave to assist a member of their immediate family who has an illness, injury, or medical need. Nowadays you had to have a side hustle, investing in stocks, working a 9to5 and whatever else society forces on us to do. Jenna gives us a new Employment Laws that enacted 2 new employment laws that explunges certain criminal records and puts on a cap of deductions for wage and garnishment from paychecks.
